Common Name:  Old Man Saltbush

Widespread in inland semi-arid and arid regions, Atriplex nummularia naturally occurs in saline, clay soils in flood plains but is adaptable to most soil conditions.  Growing 3 m high and 2 to 4 m wide, it is tolerant to severe drought conditions, periodic flooding and is frost and salt tolerant.  Silver-grey foliage, generally flowers in winter, with male and female flowers on separate plants, followed by seeds maturing in spring.  An excellent specimen for coastal gardens and landscapes as a windbreak against salty coastal winds.

Dysoxylon fraserianum

Common Name:  Rosewood

Dysoxylon fraserianum is a medium/large rainforest tree native to Queensland and New South Wales.  Mature trees can reach a height of 55 m with a truck diameter of 3.5m, but more commonly grows to 25 to 40 m tall.  With dark green, glossy foliage, it bears creamy-white flowers followed by pink fruit throughout the year.  An excellent large garden or park shade tree.  The red timber is rose-scented and used for carving, cabinetry and furniture.
